Maintenance Engineer

Overview

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will oversee day-to-day maintenance and site repairs to support production and maximize uptime. You will perform fault diagnosis, preventative maintenance, and implement root-cause fixes for equipment reliability. You will stay aligned with operations about engineering activities and respond to internal needs to sustain productivity. You will work within a safety-conscious environment and contribute to continuous improvements. This role offers hands-on impact in a fast-moving food manufacturing setting at Greencore.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily maintenance tasks and site repairs to support operations
• Perform fault finding and planned preventive maintenance on plant and equipment
• Diagnose issues, implement root-cause fixes, and improve equipment reliability
• Maintain communication with operations on engineering activities and schedules
• Respond to internal customer needs to maximise production uptime
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and controls
• Record stock movements from Engineering stores for accurate inventory
• Complete documentation to keep records audit-ready
• Identify opportunities to improve health and safety and operational efficiency

• Request engineering parts via stores/Engineering Shift Manager
• Refer to Engineering Shift Manager for significant process changes
• Escalate performance-driven issues to Shift Engineering Manager as per procedure
