Overview

In this role you will lead the design and delivery of workforce learning and capability across the Liverpool University Hospitals Group, translating national and local priorities into scalable, evidence-based learning solutions. You will partner with leaders across hospitals to identify priorities, drive improvements, and demonstrate impact through data-informed governance and evaluation. You will evolve from a course-led model to a digital-first, pathway-driven approach that aligns with group priorities and outcomes. This is an opportunity to shape learning strategy in a large NHS network and develop people through innovative coaching and mentoring programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of Learning, Development and Skills Strategy and align delivery plans with priorities
  • Coordinate LDS delivery plan across Group, hospital and department plans
  • Ensure compliance with study leave policy and learning needs analysis SOP
  • Develop engagement strategies to promote participation in LDS planning
  • Manage complex learning projects and ensure timely, high-quality delivery
  • Lead annual and bi-annual Group Learning Needs Analysis with evidence-based recommendations
  • Design and evaluate LDS programs to be future-fit and impactful
  • Develop robust evaluation frameworks to measure effectiveness and ROI
  • Advance Group coaching and mentoring with governance and outcomes
  • Provide expert consultancy on learning, development and skills across the Group

Key requirements

  • Degree CIPD or equivalent in HR/OD/L&D/Leadership
  • Postgraduate qualification in coaching
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Experience delivering capability programmes
  • Experience designing learning pathways and frameworks
  • Experience influencing stakeholders across functions
  • Experience facilitating workshops and leadership interventions
  • Experience evaluating interventions and reporting impact and benefit realisation
  • Experience leading and managing a team
  • Excellent leadership and facilitation
  • Strong influence and credibility with leaders
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Programme and project management (desirable)
  • Ability to analyse workforce data and produce reports/KPIs (desirable)
  • Governance, evaluation and impact measurement methodologies (desirable)
