About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Practitioner Social Worker – Adults to join an established Adult Social Care team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident social work professional with strong experience in complex case management, safeguarding, supervision and risk assessment, who is looking to take a lead role in supporting high-quality practice and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Practitioner, you will manage a complex and varied caseload while providing professional leadership, supervision and support to social workers and other practitioners.
You will be responsible for:
- Managing an allocated caseload involving complex needs, risk assessment, support planning, care commissioning and reviews.
- Working collaboratively with partner agencies, community organisations and other services to promote an integrated approach to adult social care.
- Identifying, assessing and appropriately escalating adult and child safeguarding concerns, working closely with relevant agencies.
- Applying relevant legislation, legal interventions, departmental policies and procedures to achieve positive, outcome-focused plans for adults, carers and families.
- Producing high-quality professional reports and providing evidence in court in relation to private and public proceedings where required.
- Taking a lead role in implementing local and national service developments and promoting evidence-based social work practice.
- Supporting the Practice Manager with staff development reviews, identifying training needs and contributing to induction programmes.
- Providing casework supervision, consultation, co-working and group supervision for social workers, other practitioners and students.
- Supporting effective caseload management through supervision, monitoring, review and constructive feedback.
- Providing supervision and oversight of Investigating Officers, including auditing and monitoring safeguarding investigations.
- Acting as a Safeguarding Investigating Manager when delegated by the Practice Manager or Operations Manager.
- Assessing and monitoring practitioners’ competency to undertake safeguarding investigations.
- Taking a lead role in ensuring an effective and timely response to referrals, coordinating assessments, risk assessments, care planning and review processes.
- Keeping the Practice Manager appropriately informed of case planning and ensuring continuity of case management during periods of absence.
