The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Physiotherapist to lead our Paediatric Physiotherapy and Learning Disability Physiotherapy Services across NHS Lanarkshire. This post also professionally supports physiotherapy services in CAMHS and Mental Health.

As Service Lead, you will provide strategic, professional and operational leadership, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred services. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies to deliver positive outcomes and reduce health inequalities.

We are looking for an inspirational leader with significant experience in physiotherapy service delivery, staff management and change leadership. You will have a strong track record of service improvement, excellent communication skills and a commitment to supporting staff development, innovation and evidence-based practice. You will bring a comprehensive understanding of the legal, policy and governance frameworks that underpin services for children and young people in Scotland. You will have the ability to lead the implementation of these frameworks within clinical services, translating national policy into meaningful improvements in care, access, participation and outcomes. The post holder will provide professional leadership and expert advice in relation to statutory processes and legal proceedings where required.

In this key role, you will:

  • Responsible for the planning and operational framework/running of the physiotherapy service within area of responsibility, to monitor, analyse, prioritise and implement changes on an ongoing basis.
  • Contributes to strategic planning and policy development for the Physiotherapy Service across NHS Lanarkshire in the conjunction with SDMs, TLs and Heads of Profession e.g. development of local plans, redesign of services, workforce planning and change management.
  • Responsible for line management, clinical, non clinical and professional leadership of staff of all grades working within a wide range of establishments within the Hospital/ Localities, e.g. health, education, social work and voluntary establishments as well as clients home.
  • Provide clinical support to less experienced physiotherapists within their highly specialised area.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration.
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level.
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge of NHS Scotland’s Leadership Qualities framework or equivalent framework.
  • Management knowledge gained through experience and continuous professional development.
  • Professional, leadership and managerial experience within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
  • A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
