Battery Test Engineer – Aberdare, UK

Salary up to £55,000.00 per annum (DOE).

AIS as a global leader in testing services, is now further expanding its testing services in and within the automotive and energy sectors. As part of this, AIS is seeking a Battery Test Engineer to service these testing sectors.

The role includes:

  • Set up and execute complex, established testing procedures and engineering services.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, accurate reports on technical test results.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure effective test setup and clear requirement alignment.
  • Provide technical expertise to line management in the development of new operational capabilities.
  • Deliver accurate and timely information to support line management in effective project management.
  • Maintain high health and safety standards within the department, including the development and implementation of new procedures.
  • Actively participate in customer testing to deliver reliable results and insights.

Qualifications:

  • BSc in engineering field with professional qualifications.
  • Experience with the design, test and build of battery test solutions.
  • Experience with electronics and test equipment associated with battery systems.
  • Experience with CAN communications systems and set-up of vehicle logging integrated systems.
  • Able to perform data analysis with standard automation tools associated with battery testing (i.e. Vector, MATLAB / Simulink, C and excel).
  • Qualified to work on high voltage DC (automotive) systems.
  • Able to effectively prioritise in accordance with set deadlines.
  • Be a collaborative team player.
  • Able to operate calmly within a reactive and changeable delivery environment.
