Student Support Adviser (Harassment and Sexual Misconduct)

Are you passionate about creating a safe and inclusive environment for students? We have an exciting opportunity to join our new team as a Student Support Adviser, dedicated to supporting students through disciplinary procedures – most notably responding parties.

What you would be doing

You will provide emotional and practical support to students responding to Student Disciplinary procedures. You will be a primary point of contact and guidance, assisting students to understand their rights and the available resources both internal and external to the institution.

You will build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues working in across Imperial, enabling you to work collaboratively to coordinate support for students.

Furthermore, you will support the delivery of relevant training to colleagues across the institution and support with building awareness of reporting tools, consent and disclosure handling.

What we are looking for

  • Significant experience with case management and supporting individuals in a similar role or at a similar level.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability and confidence to provide non-judgmental and empathetic support, explaining complex issues in an accessible way.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Knowledgeable about current issues affecting the Higher Education sector, particularly in relation to supporting students with disclosures of bullying, harassment, sexual misconduct or violence.

Further information

The Student Support Service provides dedicated, compassionate support to Imperial students facing challenging circumstances or additional barriers. The service offers specialist support for students affected by harassment or sexual misconduct, tailored support for underrepresented groups, and wellbeing guidance to help students manage concerns related to their studies and university life.

This is a full-time post (35 hours per week).
