Our Worksop based client is looking for a Lab Technician to support the environmental testing, of food ingredients and product samples and report on their results.
Duties include:
- Collect and support with analysis of daily testing of ingredients, finished product, and environmental samples from site.
- Evaluate the previous day’s analyses to identify any unusual results/trends.
- Assist in performing analysis, including preparation of required media.
- Assist with upkeep of controlled laboratory documentation.
- Ensure laboratory instrumentation is maintained to the correct standard and that daily calibrations are carried out.
- Maintain hygienic conditions of the laboratory including disposal of spent samples when appropriate.
- Update documentation and input their data into site systems.
- Maintain stock levels and request consumables orders.
- Maintenance/troubleshooting of lab equipment
To be considered for the role of Lab Technician candidates must have:
- GCSE in maths and science, or A-Level sciences, or B-TEC L3 science.
- Experience in lab environment working with a variety of laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
- Experience in a Food environment would be desirable but is not essential.
- Intermediate IT skills including Word, and Excel
- SAP experience helpful
- Self-starter; highly motivated and able to work independently.
