As a Learning Support Worker, you will work alongside teachers and specialist professionals to support students throughout their school day. At Alderwasley Hall School, our Learning Support Workers play a vital role in helping young people with autism, communication needs and associated difficulties to thrive both academically and socially. Whether you already have experience in education or are looking to bring transferable skills from another sector, we would love to hear from you. We currently have both full-time and part-time opportunities available across our school sites. With over 100 Learning Support Assistants working across the school, we recruit throughout the year as new students join us and are always keen to hear from enthusiastic and dedicated individuals who want to make a genuine difference. We are looking for individuals who are:

  • Positive and enthusiastic.
  • Passionate about supporting and educating young people.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • In possession of good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of SEND and the needs of young people., Previous classroom or learning support experience.
  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
  • NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • SEND knowledge and understanding.
