We’re looking for a Lab Consumables & Inventory Assistant to join our team at GSK’s world-class site in Barnard Castle. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with experience in stores, logistics, warehousing, inventory control or materials management who enjoys a varied, hands-on role and takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly.

You don’t need a scientific background to succeed in this role. Instead, we’re looking for someone who is comfortable managing stock, using computer systems, working independently and delivering excellent service to customers.

What You’ll Be DoingAs part of our Laboratory Support Team, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring laboratory teams have the materials and supplies they need, when they need them.

Responsibilities include:

  • -Managing laboratory consumables and inventory across multiple storage locations
  • -Monitoring stock levels and completing routine stock checks
  • -Processing orders and receipts through inventory management systems
  • -Picking, packing and distributing materials around site
  • -Receiving and inspecting incoming deliveries
  • -Supporting stock rotation and ensuring materials remain compliant and available
  • -Carrying out scheduled sample collection and delivery runs across the site
  • -Maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • -Producing labels and supporting inventory administration activities
  • -Working closely with laboratory, logistics and operational teams to provide a seamless service
  • -Supporting wider site activities as business needs require

What We’re Looking For

  • -Essential Experience in a warehouse, stores, logistics, inventory or stock control environment
  • -Strong organisation and time-management skills
  • -Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • -Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • -Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • -Excellent communication and customer-service skills
  • -Full UK driving licence
  • -Desirable Forklift licence
  • -Experience using stock management or inventory systems
  • -Experience working within a regulated or quality-focused environment
