Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to join our OFSTED-registered Children’s Home in Redhill, Surrey. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside the Registered Manager, supporting the wellbeing and development of children in a nurturing and professional environment. The successful candidate will play a key part in leading daily operations and ensuring high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing managerial leadership to the day-to-day operation of the home.
  • Assessing, planning, and reviewing the needs of the children to deliver personalised care.
  • Undertaking specialist assessments, care planning, and evaluating service user needs.
  • Facilitating and attending meetings and appointments for all children.
  • Managing and updating service user files, including risk assessments, care plans, and education records.
  • Supervising and managing the care team, including recruitment, supervision, coaching, and training.
  • Supporting new staff with comprehensive induction and ongoing development.
  • Ensuring health and safety protocols are followed and reporting maintenance issues.
  • Supporting activity planning to enhance children’s experiences and supporting their appointments.
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of safeguarding issues and addressing them appropriately.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Relevant health or social care qualification (NVQ Level 4 or 5 preferred).
  • Proven management experience within a registered children’s home environment.
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and professionals to maximise outcomes.
  • Experience in supervising and supporting staff, with strong leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and legislation.
  • IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • A full Enhanced DBS check and Full UK Driving Licence are required.
