Job Description:

Our engineering client is looking for a motivated & accomplished CNC Machinist to join their team. You must be an experienced CNC Setter/Operator and competent at editing programmes using the required control systems.

Main purpose of the job: To produce high quality components, in line with drawing tolerances & conditions, efficiently & accurately, as required by our specifications.

Person specification:

  • Skilled CNC machine programmer/setter/operator, with experience in Fanuc Control CNC Turning machines and Mazak Mazatrol controlled Integrex and HMC machines.
  • Time served engineer with good general CNC machining experience.
  • Able to work under own initiative.
  • Flexible, courteous, friendly, and positive approach
  • Able to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Able to use a wide variety of measuring & inspection equipment.
  • Eligible to work in UK.

Essential Requirements:

  • The ability to understand, modify Fanuc and Mazatrol programs
  • Able to setup and operate Fanuc controlled Lathes with minimal supervision.
  • Understanding engineering drawings
  • Able to measure, inspect their own work with standard equipment (mics, calipers, height gauge etc)
  • Experience of machining a range of materials from plastics to all grades of Stainless Steel.
  • Own transport due to factory location

Desirable:

  • CAD/Cam, this is rarely needed at Hughes as 99.9% of jobs are repeats of a adaption of an existing part.
  • Knowledge of Fusion 360 Cad Cam
  • Knowledge of Heidenhain controls
  • Manual Machining experience

Main responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate, high-quality components with optimum efficiency.
  • Ensure all programmes are saved as per company procedures.
  • Competently set & operate CNC turning machines using operating systems for each machine.
  • Plan & specify tooling requirements for production, including any jigs & fixtures or special cutting tools.
  • Carry out inspection, including first-off inspection of colleagues work.

Working hours are 08:00 to 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 to 15:30 on a Friday
