Health & Safety Manager

Leicestershire

Full time or part time

UK site travel

£38,000-£40,000 negotiable

We are supporting a growing electrical and renewable energy contractor looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead safety across its business and UK project sites. The role is available on either a full-time or part-time basis. Working closely with Directors, Project Managers, site teams and subcontractors, you will provide practical advice, strengthen existing processes and help build a positive safety culture. This is a varied role combining site visits with office-based work.

The role

  • Carry out site inspections, audits and health and safety reviews.
  • Review RAMS, risk assessments, safe systems of work and Construction Phase Plans.
  • Advise project teams on safe working practices and UK health and safety requirements.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance and support supply chain checks.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, and follow through on corrective actions.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, briefings and training.
  • Improve policies, procedures, reporting and record keeping.
  • Support the implementation of ISO 45001 and maintain relevant accreditations.

About the Health & Safety Manager

You will have experience in a site-focused health and safety role within construction, engineering, electrical contracting, M&E or a related sector. You will be confident working independently, building relationships with project teams and challenging unsafe practices constructively.

A NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent qualification, good knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, and a full UK driving licence are essential. Experience with CDM 2015, ISO 45001 or renewable energy projects would be an advantage.

Whether you are looking for a full-time role or a part-time position with responsibility for leading health and safety, we would welcome a conversation.
