Cambridgeshire Constabulary has a vacant triage technician role who will work in the Digital Forensic Unit in Thorpe Wood Police Station, Peterborough.

The digital world is fast growing and forever evolving. A digital element spans most crime types and plays a role in the majority of investigations. Cambridgeshire Police have invested in a Digital Cyber Directorate whose aim is to professionalise our response to digital forensics.

The Role

A triage technician’s core role is to dissemble digital devices to access their storage drives and carry out initial triage of devices to establish if they contain evidential material which will assist investigators.

The triage technician is a role working within our digital forensic unit and as such is an initial step towards becoming a digital forensic examiner.

The role is a technical role and applicants will need to have an aptitude for technology, however this is a great first step into digital forensic employment with an ability to progress to other roles in the unit.

We are looking for someone with good communication skills as well as a great problem solver.

Location

The Digital Forensic Unit is situated at Thorpe Wood. The team is made up of one manager, ten Examiners, one administrator, one digital accreditation officer and is a mix of both police officers and police staff.

Working hours are Monday – Friday office hours

Successful applicants will be invited for a short digital forensics quiz followed by an interview.
