BACKGROUND

This role is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and driven individual who is keen to drive standards and quality across a number of branches . It is preferred for this role that the post holder has previous experience working in a similar role within Social Care Services though not essential.

Reporting to the Operations Manager you will carry out audits of the services, advise and compile and monitor action plans as appropriate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To support all branches to achieve a GOOD or OUTSTANDING rating with CQC.
  • To work with the Registered Managers, branch staff and Care and Support Workers to ensure regulation and legislation compliance
  • To undertake regulatory audits in line with CQC regulatory framework and support the branches in delivering in a timely manner any Service Improvement Plan as a result of the audit
  • Lead internal audits
  • Support branch managers with action plans
  • Analyse incidents, complaints and safeguarding trends
  • Drive governance and quality improvement
  • To work with the branches and other stake holdersto achieve and sustain contract compliance with any Local Authority or Clinical Commissioning Group contracts
  • To attend safeguarding meetings and support the staff in developing actions for change as a result of these
  • To undertake safeguarding and serious case review investigations as instructed by the Senior Managementandto produce reports with identified learning outcome’s and when required, present these findings to the Senior Management
  • Provide support on all safeguarding / coroner’s requests and complaints on any quality issues which could affect the business
  • Support the Senior Management in delivering quality improvement strategies to ensure the safety and protection of residents
  • To attend Quality and Governance meetings to provide regulatory updates and present on specialist topics pertinent to the health and care sector
  • To induct new Managers and department heads and provide guidance and support on the regulatory framework of CQC and internal quality programme
  • To monitor all statutory notifications and support any follow up action where appropriate, liaising with the Senior Management to ensure learnings from these are implemented throughout the organization
  • To contribute to the ongoing development and review of local policies and procedures required for improving care, quality and compliance
  • The ability to balance the quality compliance requirementswith the commercial requirements of the business for it to remain a viable service
  • To review Care and Support Workers training to ensure they are delivering a quality and compliant services

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Detailed knowledge of the social care regulatory framework
  • Previous experience of closely working with or for CQC or equivalent regulatory body
  • Knowledge of the care sector in particular domiciliary care services
  • Sound understanding of quality improvement and governance and its application
  • The ability to impart knowledge and skills to others to enable them to undertake their roles
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
  • Ability to support team members in the delivery of quality improvement processes
  • The ability to build effective and credible relationships both internally and externally
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others, sharing ideas and information at all times
  • The ability to raise standards through innovation and new ideas
  • Will take responsibility for issues and provide hands on support to the branch teams to resolve them

Salary range

Developing Quality and Compliance Lead – £30,000- £35,000

Experienced Quality and Compliance Lead – £35,000-£40,000

Senior Quality and Compliance Lead – £40,000- £45,000
