We are recruiting a Midday Supervisory Assistant at Caerphilly County Borough Council. Working hours: Zero Hours Contract Type: Casual/Relief Location: Libanus Primary School. We pay an attractive salary of £13.92 per hour and offer access to training and development opportunities.

Our Governing Body is seeking to appoint a Midday Supervisor (Relief), starting ASAP pending satisfactory safeguarding and recruitment checks, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils during lunch breaks in accordance with the practices and procedures of the school.

Responsibilities

  • Have a calm, respectful and positive manner with the children;
  • Assist in the promotion of positive behaviour at all times;
  • Manage childrens’ behaviour and deal with any incidents that occur;
  • Contribute to the provision of a safe and stimulating play environment;
  • Encourage and participate in play activities with our pupils;
  • Have good interpersonal skills and be able to work constructively as part of a team;
  • Help within the dinner hall to maintain a clean and safe environment for pupils;
  • Be able to support the children when eating and encourage good table manners;
  • Be able to appreciate and support the role of other professionals;
  • Be prepared to participate in development and training opportunities;
  • To maintain confidentiality;
  • Be able to work under the direction of Line Manager and Headteacher.

Requirements

  • An understanding of the role of a Midday Supervisor and the responsibilities associated with working with children.
  • Able to communicate with children with care, empathy and understanding.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
