Product Research & Development Co-Ordinator / Trainee Co-Ordinator

Blackpool, Lancashire Competitive Salary Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm Permanent

I’m working with an established and innovative business within the environmental and safety products sector, who are looking to add a Product Research & Development Co-Ordinator / Trainee Co-Ordinator to their R&D team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys research, developing ideas, understanding customers and taking projects from an initial concept through to launch.

You’ll play a key role in supporting the development of new products, working across the business to turn customer and market insight into commercially viable product ideas.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting market and competitor research to identify customer needs, market gaps and opportunities
  • Generating and evaluating new product ideas
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends, innovations and commercial opportunities
  • Engaging directly with customers to understand their needs and develop product concepts
  • Organising and attending face-to-face customer research meetings
  • Preparing detailed design briefs for the Product Design team
  • Project managing new product development projects, ensuring key milestones are delivered
  • Working closely with Product Design, Engineering, Marketing, Sales and Operations
  • Preparing and delivering presentations to internal stakeholders
  • Coordinating activities around new product launches
  • Supporting the ongoing review and development of the existing product portfolio
  • Travelling for business when required

  • A strong communicator, both written and verbally
  • Highly organised with good project management skills
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities
  • Proactive, self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Confident using Microsoft Office or equivalent
  • Happy to travel when required

Previous experience in Product Development, R&D, Marketing or Project Management would be beneficial, alongside experience in customer research, market analysis or working cross-functionally.

A 2:1 degree in Product Design, Marketing or a related subject is required.
