Overview

In this role you will lead civil engineering sites across the Hampshire area as part of the SWDP Infrastructure Contract. You’ll drive safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery while ensuring compliance and high standards. You’ll manage site teams and subcontractors, coordinate complex activities, and maintain clear stakeholder communication. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong safety and quality focus that supports Clancy’s mission to enhance essential services for communities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate site teams and subcontractors to achieve project objectives
  • Deliver works safely, on programme, and within budget
  • Manage and monitor project programmes, construction documentation, and drawings
  • Ensure compliance with HSEQ procedures and company standards
  • Prepare and review RAMS and manage permit systems
  • Coordinate temporary works, deep excavations, and other complex activities
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
  • Monitor site performance, report progress, and escalate issues where necessary

Key requirements

  • Experience as Site Manager with a minimum of five years in a similar role
  • Experience working under NEC contracts
  • Hold SSSTS or SMSTS
  • Experience operating as a Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor
  • Qualified in deep excavations
  • NRSWA Supervisor certification
  • Water Hygiene (Blue Card) and Underground Service Detection
  • CSCS card and First Aid qualification
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Comfortable using IT systems with strong Excel skills
  • Experience in sewage/clean water networks, utilities, or highways projects advantageous
  • Good understanding of cost and resource control and temporary works
  • Strong leadership and team-motivation abilities
  • Effective communication with clients and stakeholders
  • Proactive and reliable in resolving on-site challenges
  • Interpreting construction drawings and project programmes
  • Managing RAMS and permit systems
  • HSEQ compliance and procedures
