About the role

In your role as Financial Reporting Manager, you will be required to manage the timely preparation of concession financials reporting to BB Group – actual results, budgetsand forecasts, half year and year end group reporting.

You will provide technical accounting support to Central and Concession Finance, for new business and existing concession projects. In addition to this, as a line manager, you will support, motivate and inspire the development of those team members reporting into the role.

What you’ll be doing

  • Management of concession reporting on monthly, quarterly and half year/full year reporting cycles which includes:
    • Monthly actual reporting of concession results by set deadline to include variance analysis with commentary and submission in HFM (including review of external MSA provider management accounts where applicable)
    • Preparation of quarterly forecast/annual budget with variance analysis with commentary for review
    • Half year/full year reporting in line with strict BB Group reporting deadlines, to include detailed HFM submission
    • Contribute to presentation material for review by executive management/BB Group;
  • Provide effective accounting support to new business development projects, through identification and documentation of key accounting issues, and discussion with the wider team;
  • Preparation of regular and ad hoc financial reports and analysis;
  • Coordination and preparation of appropriate backup schedules to support external auditors for financial audits.
  • Updates to financial models and application of accounting overlays;
  • Lead Central Finance’s provision of information to Project Finance in generating Directors’ Valuations of Concessions, and support calculation of impairments/accounting adjustments thereafter;
  • Management of direct reports including planning of tasks, providing regular feedback on performance and maintaining good levels of engagement given challenges of remote working arrangements.

Who we’re looking for

Essential –

  • Qualified to degree level (minimum of 2.1)
  • Qualified accountant with significant experience
  • Experience of complex technical accounting including consolidation
  • Intellectual curiosity
  • Flexibility to deal with several tasks at the same time and detail orientated
  • Effective communicator, both orally and in writing
  • High level of initiative
  • Must be able to complete priority tasks to a high standard on schedule
  • Up to date with accounting issues and requirements (FRS101/102 and IFRS)
  • Strong Excel and Word skills
