Java Developer – eDV Clearance

An opportunity has arisen for a Java Developer to join a specialist cyber technology and software assurance company supporting UK Defence and Critical National Infrastructure programmes.

As a Java Developer, you will develop and enhance secure Java applications, backend services and system integrations within a restricted environment.

This is a 12-month contract based role offering a salary range of £600 – £650 per day and benefits.

You will be responsible for:

• Developing and enhancing Java-based backend services.
• Designing and implementing secure, scalable applications.
• Building and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Working with microservices architectures.
• Collaborating with engineers, architects and relevant stakeholders.
• Work within an Agile development environment
• Contributing to the development of technology supporting UK national security operations

What we are looking for

• Previously worked as a Java Developer or in a similar role.
• Active Enhanced Developed Vetting (eDV) security clearance is essential.
• Strong experience in Java development.
• Prior experience working in secure, government or national security environments.
• Background working with microservices.
• Solid knowledge of RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Experience working within Agile development teams.

  Desirable:

  • Familiarity with Spring or Spring Boot.
  • Knowledge of Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with CI/CD processes.
  • Familiarity with AWS or Azure.
