1. Role Purpose
The ERP Solution Architect is accountable for defining, governing, and assuring the end-to-end target solution architecture for the Oracle Fusion Cloud implementation. 2. Key Responsibilities
- A) End-to-End Solution ArchitectureOwn the overall solution architecture for the ERP programme (Oracle Fusion Cloud end state). Define target architecture across Oracle Fusion Financials, Procurement, HCM Core, and Payroll. Ensure alignment between process design, configuration, integrations, reporting, and security.
- B) Business Process & Design GovernanceLead design assurance to promote standardisation and process simplification. Minimise customisation (“adopt not adapt”) unless justified and approved. Chair Design Authority forums / architecture review boards and maintain decision logs. Approve solution designs and ensure traceability to requirements.
- C) SAP-to-Oracle Transition & Legacy AlignmentTranslate SAP legacy processes and structures into Oracle Fusion equivalents. Drive rationalisation of legacy complexity and technical debt. Ensure coherent cross-module design across Finance, Procurement, HCM, and Payroll.
- D) Integration Architecture (OIC / APIs / Middleware)Define integration approach and patterns (batch vs real-time, inbound/outbound). Govern interface scope and dependencies (banks, HMRC, pensions, DWH, identity). Define monitoring, error handling, reconciliation, and support processes.
- E) Data Migration Architecture & SequencingWork with the Data Migration Lead to define migration sequencing and dependencies. Ensure migration design supports audit evidence and reconciliation requirements. Define data quality thresholds for go-live readiness.
- F) Security, Controls & ComplianceDefine role-based access control principles and SoD model. Ensure Delegation of Authority (DoA) and approval workflows are correctly designed. Ensure compliance with GDPR/data privacy for HR/Payroll data.
- G) Reporting & Analytics ArchitectureDefine reporting strategy across Finance/Procurement/HCM/Payroll (OTBI, BI Publisher, downstream platforms). Ensure operational, statutory, and management reporting requirements are met.
- H) Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs)Ensure the solution meets performance, resilience, scalability, maintainability, and upgrade-readiness requirements. Support Oracle quarterly release readiness and regression planning.
- I) Delivery Assurance & Go-Live ReadinessProvide architectural assurance across design, build, SIT, UAT, cutover, and hypercare. Support go/no-go decisions with architectural risk assessment and mitigation actions. Ensure the BAU support model is viable post go-live (Tier 1/2/3).
- J) Supplier / Partner ManagementAssure System Integrator (SI) and partner architecture deliverables. Review and approve partner designs to ensure alignment with standards and programme objectives. Support commercial discussions where architecture impacts scope, cost, or risk.
