We’re looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join our growing team at Waltham Forest.

You’ll work on a wide range of commercial vehicles, including HGVs and RCVs (Refuse Collection Vehicles), carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs.

And if you haven’t worked on specialist vehicles before — don’t worry. We’ll provide specialist training to build on the skills you already have.

What will you be doing?

As a HGV Technician you will be responsible for servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs / commercial vehicles; diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs, as well as carrying out routine inspections and preventative maintenance.

You will also be responsible for attending breakdowns, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs, as well as Tacho calibrations, repairs and wheel alignment.

You will prepare vehicles for MOT and carry out commercial vehicle / HGV MOT inspections, while makings sure paperwork completed and up to date.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who knows their way around HGVs and enjoys keeping vehicles moving.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, HGV Engineer or Fleet Engineer
  • A HGV technical qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent
  • Experience with RCVs or municipal vehicles would be a bonus.
  • Experience with tacho and wheel alignment as well as commercial vehicle repairs
  • A Class 2 licence would be preferred
  • A good understanding of Health & Safety a customer-focused approach
