WE ARE BBC STUDIOS
A globally renowned media company borne of the BBC. We make and distribute the world’s most sought-after TV, audio and digital content.
Our ambition is to be the home of the most powerful, entertaining, and inspiring stories for people all around the world.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Join BBC Commercial Group Finance as a Finance Analyst – Management Reporting & Consolidation, a role that combines financial reporting expertise with finance systems ownership.
This is not a traditional reporting role and it is not purely a finance systems role. We are looking for someone who can bridge both disciplines, translating financial reporting requirements into robust system processes and ensuring the integrity of our consolidation and reporting environment.
You’ll play a key role in delivering consolidated management reporting to senior stakeholders while acting as a key finance contact for SAP BPC and related reporting systems. Working closely with Finance, Technology and external partners, you’ll help ensure reporting is accurate, efficient and supported by strong controls and governance.
WHY JOIN THE TEAM
You’ll join a collaborative and highly visible finance function at the centre of BBC Commercial Group’s reporting and planning processes.
This role offers a unique opportunity to combine technical finance expertise with hands‑on systems responsibility. You’ll help shape how financial information is consolidated, reported and delivered to senior leadership, while driving system improvements, automation and process optimisation across a complex commercial organisation.
If you enjoy solving problems, working across teams and combining finance knowledge with systems capability, this is an opportunity to make a genuine impact.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
Management Reporting & Consolidation (50%)
- Support the production of monthly and quarterly consolidated management reporting across BBC Commercial Group.
- Prepare reporting for senior leadership, Executive Committee and Board audiences.
- Analyse financial performance and provide clear insight on trends, risks, opportunities and key drivers.
- Review and challenge submissions from finance teams to ensure reporting accuracy and consistency.
- Support financial controls and governance processes across the reporting cycle.
Finance Systems & Data Management (50%)
- Act as a key finance contact for SAP BPC and related consolidation and reporting systems.
- Investigate and resolve consolidation, data load and reporting issues, working closely with Finance Technology teams and third‑party providers.
- Validate actuals, forecasts and planning data to ensure completeness, accuracy and consistency across systems.
- Support system testing, enhancements, upgrades and change initiatives, including UAT activities.
- Identify opportunities to automate, simplify and improve reporting and consolidation processes.
- Support the development of dashboards, reporting tools and improved user experience within the finance systems landscape.
- Create guidance, training materials and best practice resources for finance users where required.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent relevant finance experience.
- Experience in management reporting, financial consolidation and control processes within a corporate finance environment.
- Experience of SAP BPC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC or similar finance consolidation and reporting systems.
- Ability to analyse, reconcile and validate large financial datasets with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain financial and systems‑related issues to non‑finance audiences.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED
- Experience supporting finance systems, including user queries, issue resolution, testing or system enhancements.
- Experience producing reporting and analysis for Executive Committee or Board audiences.
- Knowledge of reporting automation, dashboard development or visualisation tools such as SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
- Experience operating within a complex, matrix organisation and working across Finance and Technology teams.
- Knowledge of audit and control frameworks such as ICFR or EMC.
If you can bring some of these skills and experience, along with transferable strengths, we’d love to hear from you and encourage you to apply.
We appreciate your interest in this position and understand how important this opportunity is to you. Due to the high volume of interest, we may need to close the application period earlier than anticipated. This step is necessary to ensure we can provide a high level of attention and service to all applicants. Thank you for your understanding.
