Job Type: Full-time, office-based
We are seeking an HR Manager to join an engineering organisation. This standalone HR role offers the opportunity to work within a medium-size business that designs and manufactures high-value component parts. The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing day-to-day HR activities and recruitment, comfortable working autonomously, and thrive in a structured, traditional environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide day-to-day HR support and advice to a highly skilled workforce of technical employees.
- Manage recruitment and candidate management, with a focus on workforce planning.
- Support various HR projects from start to finish, maintaining and enhancing existing HR processes and procedures.
- Assist in supporting employee career paths, learning journeys, and performance management.
- Handle absence management and advise senior leadership on HR matters.
- Support changing workforce requirements as business projects start and finish, including understanding employee movement between projects/teams and redundancy implications where required.
- Support apprenticeship and graduate/talent programmes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong generalist HR capability with the ability to manage day-to-day HR activities independently.
- Significant recruitment and workforce planning experience, with a proven track record in a similar role.
- Credibility and strong communication skills, able to interact effectively with all levels of the organisation.
- Comfortable in a standalone role and confident dealing directly with senior leadership.
- Solid knowledge of employment processes and procedures, commercially aware and pragmatic.
