The Role
A hands-on Data Engineer position for someone with one to two years of commercial experience who is ready to take the next step in their career. You will build and maintain data pipelines, support data modelling and warehousing work, and collaborate closely with analysts and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, well-structured datasets. This role suits someone with strong SQL and Python foundations, a problem-solving mindset and a genuine enthusiasm for data engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain data pipelines using ETL and ELT approaches
- Develop automation and reporting tools using Google Sheets and Google Apps Script
- Work with cloud platforms for data storage and processing
- Support the design and development of data models and data warehouses
- Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to ensure datasets are accurate, reliable and fit for purpose
- Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot data quality issues as they arise
- Document technical processes and workflows clearly to support team knowledge sharing
What You’ll Need
Essential:
- One to two years of experience in a data engineering or related role
- Strong SQL skills with hands-on experience querying and manipulating data
- Experience with Google Sheets and Google Apps Script
- Working knowledge of at least one cloud platform
- Experience with Python or a similar programming language
- Solid understanding of ETL and ELT concepts
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- UK work authorisation
Desirable:
- Experience with data warehousing tools such as Snowflake, BigQuery or Redshift
- Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow or dbt
- Experience with Git and CI/CD practices
