If you’re 1+ PQE and still waiting for someone to let you actually do the corporate work, this is probably worth a look.nnn I’m working with a Newcastle firm that is expanding its Corporate team and wants to speak to solicitors from around 1 year PQE upwards.nnn The attraction here is pretty straightforward.nnn You’ll get properly involved.nnn Not just sitting somewhere near the transaction while somebody more senior handles all the interesting bits.nnn The work covers business and share acquisitions and disposals, management buy-outs, corporate refinancing, investments, group reorganisations and share buybacks, with direct client contact and the opportunity to build your own relationships as your experience grows.nnn They’re particularly interested in lawyers who already have solid transactional experience and are comfortable taking responsibility for their own matters, but this is still very much a role where you can continue developing rather than being expected to arrive as the finished article.nnn You’ll work closely with the Head of Corporate, have exposure across a genuinely varied caseload and be encouraged to get involved in business development rather than being hidden away behind the scenes.nnn For somebody earlier in their career, that matters.nnn You learn much faster when you’re speaking to the client, understanding why the deal is happening and seeing a transaction from start to finish.nnn The package is competitive, there is hybrid and flexible working, and the team is based in brand new Newcastle city centre offices.nnn If you’re a Corporate Solicitor with 1+ PQE and you feel ready for a role where you can start becoming a proper corporate adviser rather than simply another pair of hands on the deal, contact Neil Campbell at QED Legal.
