n Your new rolen As Senior Legal Counsel, you will act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders across Legal, Financial Services, Compliance, Risk, Product, Operations and Technology teams. You'll provide commercially focused legal advice on a broad range of financial services matters while supporting the development and delivery of innovative customer solutions.n Key responsibilities will include:

    n

  • Advising on consumer credit, financial services regulation, FCA requirements, payment services and related regulatory frameworks.
  • n

  • Supporting the design, launch and ongoing management of regulated financial products and customer propositions.
  • n

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, including technology, outsourcing, supplier, distribution and data-sharing arrangements.
  • n

  • Leading and supporting regulatory change projects, horizon scanning and implementation of new legal and regulatory requirements.
  • n

  • Advising on governance, risk management and compliance frameworks.
  • n

  • Supporting regulatory engagement, investigations, information requests and remediation activity where required.
  • n

  • Providing practical legal training and guidance to business stakeholders.
  • n

  • Managing external legal advisers and contributing to the development of junior members of the legal team.
  • n

n What you'll need to succeedn To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with strong post-qualification experience gained either in-house or within private practice.n You will also demonstrate:

  • Strong knowledge of UK financial services regulation and consumer credit law.
  • n

  • Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • n

  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • n

  • The ability to translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into pragmatic commercial advice.
  • n

  • Strong commercial awareness and sound judgement in a fast-paced environment.
  • n

  • Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and influencing business decisions.
  • n

  • Exposure to areas such as outsourcing, operational resilience, technology contracts, data protection or financial promotions would be advantageous.
  • n
