Senior Civil Engineer – Renewables & Transmission & Distribution

Overview

In this role, you will lead civil design and project delivery for a portfolio of energy projects across renewables and grid infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to drive feasibility through construction, shaping sustainable infrastructure at scale. You’ll mentor juniors, review specifications, and ensure UK standards compliance, contributing to AECOM’s mission to deliver a better world. Responsibilities

• Liaise with clients, manage day-to-day project work within timescales and budgets
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams
• Lead design of civil infrastructure including roads, drainage, and external works
• Prepare and review calculations, drawings and specifications per UK standards (BS EN, Eurocodes, CDM)
• Conduct site inspections and respond to technical queries
• Produce feasibility reports, inspection reports, and design documentation
• Mentor and guide junior staff

Key requirements

• BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering
• Chartered status or active pursuit of chartership
• High technical competency in civil or structural design
• Strong report writing and organisational skills
• Familiarity with National Grid Technical Specifications (NGTS) or CDAE status as an advantage
