Are you an experienced operational leader looking for an opportunity to shape services and make a real impact across health and social care?

We are looking for an exceptional Band 8b Clinical Operations Manager to provide operational and system leadership for the Barnet Integrated Transfer of Care (Discharge) Hub and Barnet Hospital at Home service.

This is a permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours per week) offering the opportunity to lead multidisciplinary and multi-organisational teams across CLCH, Barnet Hospital and Barnet Adult Social Care.

You will play a pivotal role in improving patient flow, safe and timely discharge, admission avoidance and patient outcomes, while ensuring services remain high-quality, responsive and sustainable.

Working with senior leaders and system partners, you will lead service transformation, performance improvement, workforce and capacity planning, while using data and insight to identify opportunities for improvement.

We are looking for a visible, compassionate and influential leader who can bring people together across organisational boundaries, inspire teams and turn strategic priorities into meaningful improvements for patients.

Main duties of the job

As Clinical Operations Manager, you will:

  • Provide operational and system leadership for the Barnet Integrated Transfer of Care Hub and Hospital at Home service, ensuring safe, responsive and high-quality care.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams across CLCH, Barnet Hospital and Barnet Adult Social Care, strengthening partnership working across organisations.
  • Drive improvements in patient flow, timely discharge, admission avoidance and length of stay, responding proactively to operational pressures.
  • Lead service transformation and pathway development with the ICB, acute services, local authority and system partners.
  • Monitor performance, quality and outcome data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing action plans.
  • Provide visible and compassionate leadership, supporting workforce planning, recruitment, retention and staff development.
  • Lead demand and capacity planning to ensure services remain sustainable and responsive.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively, promoting efficiency and value for money.
  • Maintain robust governance, including oversight of risk, incidents, complaints and learning.
  • Champion patient and carer experience, using feedback to improve services and equitable access to care.

Person specification

Education/Qualification

  • Evidence of continuing personal and professional development
  • Professional clinical qualification or significant NHS experience
  • Masters level education or equivalent experience
  • Experience of managing patient care services

Experience

  • Significant recent experience of working at a senior level
  • Substantial experience of working in community healthcare services delivering patient care
  • Change management and service transformation experience related to the planning and delivery of work in a clinical setting
  • Experience of staff management
  • Experience of budget management
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Substantial experience of coordinating and leading projects

Skills & Knowledge

  • Essential ability to rapidly build credibility with all levels in the Trust, including senior managers and clinicians
  • Ability to persuade clinicians to engage with, implement and embed change
  • High level competence and computer literacy including MS Office, and clinical systems
  • Excellent communication skills; able to express complicated, multi stranded concepts in an accessible way, both verbally and in writing and in a multi- professional environment
  • Proven ability to manage, analyse data and sound organisational skills
  • Understanding of the National Drivers of the wider health and social care economies, how they affect CLCH and their practical application to service delivery
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles of quality governance
  • Understanding and knowledge of the need to use evidence based practice in the development and delivery of clinical services
  • Ability to prioritise work against a background of a variety of demand for information and deadlines
  • Knowledge of managing difficult situations and conflict resolution
  • Understanding of NHS Financial Guidance
  • Understanding and experience of social care systems and legislation
