About our client

Our client provides nearshore software engineering services to enterprise organisations. They’re growing fast, and their Manchester sales development team is growing with them. Now they need an experienced leader to take that team to the next level.

The role

This is a pure people leadership role, and you won’t be starting from scratch. You’ll inherit an established team of 6 to 8 BDRs, with headcount already approved and recruitment underway. Your job is to lead, coach and develop them into a team that consistently delivers.

You’ll own the team’s results, from meetings and qualified opportunities through to pipeline and new business growth. You’ll lead from the front, using your own outbound experience to coach on messaging, objection handling, call quality and prospecting strategy. If you love being hands-on, setting the pace and building an energetic, high-performance culture, this is a role where you can make your mark quickly.

What you’ll do

  • Lead, manage and develop the BDR team
  • Own team performance across activity, meetings booked, qualified opportunities and pipeline contribution
  • Deliver structured coaching through call reviews, message reviews, objection handling sessions and regular 1:1s
  • Onboard and ramp new team members with a consistent, effective approach
  • Drive high standards in outbound activity, pipeline quality and CRM discipline
  • Build a strong operating rhythm, including team cadences, sequences, reporting and top-of-funnel forecasting
  • Work with sales and marketing to align on target accounts, messaging, campaigns and follow-up
  • Use data to spot coaching opportunities and improve results
  • Create a high-energy, accountable, performance-driven culture
  • Be visible and present with the team, setting the standard every day

About you

You’re an established Sales Development Manager with a proven record of leading high-performing outbound teams. Ideally you’ll bring:

  • Experience managing an outbound SDR or BDR team of 5+ people in a B2B environment
  • A strong personal background in outbound sales, so you coach with real credibility
  • Experience in B2B technology, professional services or consultative sales
  • A track record of developing people, lifting performance and helping team members earn promotions
  • Experience reducing ramp time and onboarding new salespeople successfully
  • Strong knowledge of CRM systems, sales engagement platforms, reporting and analytics
  • The ability to manage by both data and behaviour, understanding the numbers and coaching the activity behind them
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • A hands-on, energetic and highly visible leadership style

Nice to have

  • Experience of consultative, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles

What’s on offer

  • £60k to £70k base salary
  • £100k to £110k+ OTE
  • A commission structure that rewards both consistent top-of-funnel performance and real commercial outcomes
  • An established team, approved headcount and recruitment already underway
  • Scope for the role and your leadership remit to grow as the team expands

Working pattern

This is an office-based role in Manchester city centre. Expect to be in 5 days a week during the initial period, while new team members join and the team beds in.

Why join?

You’ll take ownership of an established, growing sales development function with genuine scope to make a big commercial impact. The team is in place and ready to be led. If you’re ambitious, commercially minded and know how to get the best out of people, our client would love to hear from you.

At Furza, we’re committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences. If there’s anything we can do to support you during the process, please let us know, we’d be happy to help.
