Job description

Communications Manager – Maternity Cover

London Hybrid, two days a week in our London office

Twenty-five years ago we opened a single showroom in Bourton-on-the-Water. That corner of rural England taught us what we still believe: that furniture should be timeless, understated, and made to be lived with.

We’re looking for someone to make sure more people know it.

The role

As the Communications Manager, you’ll own how we’re seen, heard and talked about — across press, organic social, talent and partnerships — and you’ll set the strategy that gets us there.

It’s a broad remit with real autonomy. You’ll shape the plan, then make it happen, supported by a Social Media and Influencer Executive and our in-house creative team, and working with ourPR agency.

What you’ll do

  • Set the brand communications strategy, and connect it clearly to where the business is heading, whether that’s supporting showrooms or driving traffic to the website.
  • Lead our organic social strategy across every social platform — the thinking, the calendar, and the content that lands.
  • Social Comms Management – replying to the DM’s & comments we receive, as well as requests coming in from our customer service team.
  • Develop celebrity, influencer and talent collaborations that feel genuinely ours rather than bought.
  • Find partnerships that strengthen what we stand for, including our B Corp credentials and our fifteen-year guarantee.
  • Measure what’s working. Report on brand impact honestly, and change course when the numbers say so.
  • Build and deliver the PR plan across consumer, trade and corporate, directing our agency and keeping the message consistent.

What you’ll bring

Essential

  • You’ve led brand communications for a consumer, retail or lifestyle brand, and can point to campaigns that measurably shifted how that brand was seen.
  • You know the organic social landscape properly — not just the platforms, but what earns attention on each of them right now.
  • You understand how coverage actually gets made, and you have the relationships to prove it.
  • You’ve delivered high-profile talent and influencer collaborations from first conversation to final post.
  • You generate ideas, and you’re comfortable being the one who has to make them real.
  • You’re an expert at capturing and editing social-first and on brand content, that would be true to the heart of the Cotswold Company brand.

Nice to have

  • Experience in homewares, interiors or furniture.

How you’ll work here

  • Strategic thinking and hands-on delivery, in roughly equal measure.
  • Organised, with several plates spinning and none of them dropped.
  • Confident representing us — to journalists, to partners, to our own leadership team.
  • Warm and straightforward with colleagues. We mean it about kindness.
  • Curious about homes and how people live in them.

What we offer

  • Up to 33 days’ holiday, including bank holidays
  • Private healthcare and a cash plan
  • Generous discount on our products
  • help@hand wellbeing and discount platform
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Death in service cover
  • Health and wellbeing guidance and support
  • Hybrid working, with the detail agreed with you

If you need any adjustments to the process — at any stage, for any reason — tell us and we’ll make them. Nothing you share will affect how your application is considered.

Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK; we’re not able to offer sponsorship.
