Overview
As a Senior Project Manager in our Real Estate team in Newcastle, you will lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale construction projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-quality outcomes. You will work with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to drive objectives, governance, and risk mitigation across the project lifecycle. You will oversee budgets, schedules, safety, and environmental compliance while mentoring junior project managers. Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end management of large-scale construction projects
- Develop and maintain project plans including schedules, budgets, and resources
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project objectives
- Implement and oversee project governance, processes, and systems
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
- Monitor project finances and manage change control
- Facilitate communication with stakeholders via meetings and reports
- Ensure safety, health, and environmental compliance
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with clients
- Mentor and guide junior project managers
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Experience managing large-scale construction projects
- PMP certification
- Proven track record delivering complex projects on time and within budget
- Strong knowledge of construction processes and best practices
- Proficiency in project management software (Microsoft Project, Primavera)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in a consultancy environment preferred
- Familiarity with sustainable construction practices and LEED is a plus
