Overview

In this role, you will lead large-scale construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery within time, budget, and quality in line with government standards. You will work with architects, engineers, contractors and government stakeholders to align objectives and governance. You will develop robust project plans, monitor risks and finances, and manage change while upholding public-sector procurement rules. This is an opportunity to shape educational infrastructure and contribute to high-impact public projects. Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end management of large-scale construction projects to meet time, budget, and quality targets
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation aligned with Department for Education requirements
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and government stakeholders to achieve objectives
  • Establish and oversee project governance, processes, and systems following public sector best practices
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for project resilience
  • Monitor finances and manage change control in compliance with government regulations
  • Facilitate clear communication through meetings, reports, and government-mandated documentation
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and procurement standards
  • Mentor and develop junior project managers to uphold chartered standards

Key requirements

  • PMP certification
  • Demonstrable experience managing large-scale construction projects in the education sector
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, methodologies and best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Primavera
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and team members
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Experience in a consultancy environment is preferred
  • Familiarity with sustainable construction practices and LEED certification is a plus
