Overview
In this Engineering Design Manager role, you will lead multi-disciplinary design input on critical infrastructure projects, ensuring buildable, compliant and efficient solutions. You’ll collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to steer design through the full lifecycle from concept to delivery. The position sits in the Real Estate team, supporting prestigious projects across transport, defence, and highways. You’ll balance technical leadership with strategic problem solving to deliver fit-for-purpose outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Manage external design consultants under contract and ensure duties are fulfilled
- Lead multi-disciplinary design teams to deliver project solutions
- Evaluate and optimize designs and solutions
- Collaborate with technical, operational, maintenance, and strategic stakeholders
- Liaise with clients, project managers, contractors and consultants on scope, risk and issues
Key requirements
- Minimum 5 years of design and management experience
- Experience managing design through full project lifecycle across sectors
- Strong understanding of integrated design delivery and consultant performance
- Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and common data environments
- CAD experience (AutoCAD or Revit)
- Excellent communication with clients and staff
- Self-driven, results-oriented with good time management and people management skills
