Overview
As a Town Planner at Arup in Newcastle, you will help deliver a wide range of planning projects that shape sustainable development across the UK. You will join a multidisciplinary planning network and collaborate with environmental, transport, design and engineering specialists to resolve complex schemes. You will contribute to policy development, plan-making and urban regeneration, and support major infrastructure schemes including NSIPs. Responsibilities
- Support and manage planning applications and development projects, including major and complex schemes
- Contribute to policy development, plan-making and urban regeneration initiatives
- Prepare and contribute to high-quality planning reports, statements and technical documents
- Support major infrastructure schemes, including NSIPs and National Developments
- Work closely with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful outcomes
Key requirements
- Degree in Town Planning (or related discipline) and RTPI membership (or working towards)
- Experience contributing to planning applications and development management projects
- Strong understanding of UK planning legislation, policy and guidance
- Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, high-quality outputs
