Overview
In this role you will drive commercial governance and cost control on major substation projects in Wales, supporting the off-site commercial team and on-site delivery. You will manage valuations, cost reporting, subcontract administration and change management, ensuring NEC-based contracts are adhered to. The position offers exposure to civil/major construction in a forward-looking energy sector with opportunities for professional development. Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to group procedures and governance on-site
- Prepare valuations and payment applications with full documentation
- Oversee client cost reports with contract-compliant support
- Manage subcontract and material procurement schedules
- Administer subcontractor/supplier accounts from requisitions to final accounts
- Conduct contract administration including change management and maintain registers
- Identify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change
- Measure quantities per standard methods of measurement
Key requirements
- Proven experience as Senior Quantity Surveyor or experienced Quantity Surveyor stepping up
- Solid knowledge of NEC Contracts
- Registered with RICS / ICES and working towards chartership
- Experience on Civil Engineering and/or Major Construction Projects
- HND/Degree qualification (stated but not specified)
