Overview
In this role you will lead risk management for a major capital programme within a busy Derby Real Estate team, focusing on defence projects in the East Midlands. You will implement an integrated risk framework, identify threats and opportunities, and inform investment decisions. You’ll work with contractors and internal stakeholders to marshal responses, monitor risk exposure, and produce timely risk reporting. This is an opportunity to shape risk strategy on high-profile projects in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities
- Facilitate identification, assessment and prioritisation of threats, opportunities and issues within the sub-programme
- Maintain visibility of threat/opportunity trigger points for risk cost profiling and budget management
- Assist with identifying and recording measurable management responses and post-mitigation positions
- Monitor overall risk exposure and assess against the risk budget
- Proactively manage completion of management responses to deliver target positions
- Work with contractors to assess contractor-held risks and client-held risks impacting them
- Produce risk reports to communicate threat and opportunity status
- Conduct quantitative risk assessment (cost and schedule) to inform contingency levels
- Demonstrate competence with PRA, @risk, Safran or similar tools; familiarity with ARM, Predict, Tableau
Key requirements
- Qualitative and quantitative assessment of risk
- Working understanding of integrated risk management (risk, cost and schedule) on large programmes
- Risk workshop facilitation
- Threat mitigation and opportunity exploitation
- Probabilistic modelling (@risk, PRA and P6 proficiency or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a risk delivery role on major projects/programmes
- APM/IRM risk certification preferred
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Degree in construction-related subject preferred
- Must hold or be able to obtain SC security clearance (British National, UK Passport)
