Overview
In this role you will plan, build, and execute verification for AMD’s micoprocessor IP to minimize bugs in the final design. You’ll work with architects, hardware, firmware, and software teams across sites to verify new features and ensure robust performance. You’ll develop test plans, automated regressions, and interfaces with formal verification to drive high-quality silicon. This position sits at the core of delivering reliable, high-speed processor designs in a collaborative, hybrid environment. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with architects, hardware engineers, and firmware engineers to understand new features to be verified
- Create test plan documentation considering cross-feature interactions, hardware, firmware, and software driver use cases
- Estimate effort for new feature tests and test environment changes
- Develop directed and random verification tests
- Debug test failures with RTL and firmware teams to fix defects and test issues
- Review functional and code coverage metrics and refine tests to meet coverage requirements
- Build automated regression infrastructure for functional verification of high-speed microprocessor designs
- Develop interface assertions and coordinate with the formal verification team
Key requirements
- 3+ years of Design Verification experience
- Proficient in IP level ASIC verification
- Proficient in debugging firmware and RTL code using simulation tools
- Proficient in C++ testbenches and working in Linux and Windows
- Experience with Verilog, SystemVerilog, C, and C++
- CPU pipeline knowledge
- Automating workflows in a distributed compute environment
- Exposure to simulation profiles, efficiency improvements, acceleration, HLS tools/process
- Strong C++ background on Linux with Windows exposure
- Scripting: Perl, Ruby, Makefile, shell preferred
- Desirable memory subsystem or CPU unit verification experience
- Bachelor in Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering (academic credentials)
