Overview

In this London-based role, you will provide expert legal support to AWS’s Sales and Marketing teams across the UK and Northern Europe, focusing on technology service agreements and regulatory compliance in the EMEA region. You’ll advise on complex commercial and public sector deals, lead strategic transactions, and drive AI-enabled improvements to legal operations. The position blends transactional work with governance, data protection, and policy matters to enable faster, smarter business decisions. Your work helps AWS scale responsibly across enterprise and public sector customers.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, negotiate, and advise on strategic technology service agreements with enterprise, public sector customers, and partners
  • Provide ongoing legal counsel and regulatory interpretation for product development, operations, security, compliance, data protection, and public policy
  • Support UK public sector engagements (Crown Commercial Service frameworks, G-Cloud procurements) and multi-country deal structures
  • Lead or serve as lead counsel on strategic sales transactions and partnership agreements
  • Address customer and business partner inquiries; manage legal issues in existing relationships
  • Pioneer AI-driven transformation of legal operations to improve contract review, reduce bottlenecks, and deliver faster insights
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the UK, Northern Europe, and wider EMEA to deliver transactional and regulatory support

Key requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in Europe, US, or another common law jurisdiction
  • 2+ years post-qualification legal experience
  • Experience in transactional work: drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Previous work at a law firm, government, or in-house at a technology company
  • Excellent communication, drafting, and negotiation skills
  • Proactive; entrepreneurial mindset
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Sound pragmatic judgment in ambiguous situations
  • Knowledge of cloud computing, IT infrastructure, and software licensing
  • Experience with IT transactions and services agreements
  • Familiarity with data protection regulations (UK GDPR) and regulatory frameworks
