Senior Development Manager

Overview

As Development Manager, you will lead development opportunities from strategy through to pre-construction, shaping business cases and financial viability while coordinating planning and stakeholder engagement. You’ll act as the client’s lead consultant up to construction delivery, collaborating across design, planning, cost and procurement to drive project milestones. This role is part of a growing Development Management team, offering exposure to diverse, high-impact projects across regions.

Responsibilities

• Lead development opportunities and drive business cases
• Manage viability assessment and financial modelling for schemes
• Act as client lead on planning and third-party coordination
• Coordinate land acquisition and development approvals
• Assemble and manage development teams and consultants
• Oversee tender analyses and appoint main contractors
• Collaborate with internal teams through design, planning, cost, value, and procurement phases
• Ensure smooth handover to Project Manager for delivery phase and maintain client relationship through delivery

Key requirements

• Post-qualification experience in development or related fields
• Experience in mixed-use and office development
• Experience across all development phases
• Full and clean driving licence
• Strong communication and IT skills
• Strong knowledge of RIBA design stages, planning, development control and building regulations
• Excellent presentation skills
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft packages
• Excellent working knowledge of Argus Developer
