Senior Cost Manager (MEP) – Real Estate

Overview

In this role you will lead MEP-focused cost management for complex projects within our Edinburgh Real Estate team. You will partner with clients and design teams to establish budgets, perform early cost estimation, manage procurement, and monitor post-contract costs to safeguard value. You’ll guide a cost management team where appropriate, interfacing with clients and consultants to ensure robust cost control. This position offers impact by shaping project economics across varied client sectors and delivering measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Commission management within larger projects or direct MEP commissions
• Feasibility studies support and procurement reporting
• Estimating and cost planning, presenting final cost plans
• Tendering and procuring (single and two-stage) with pre-qualification management
• Managing post-contract cost variances and change control
• Carrying out cost checks and valuations for larger projects
• Producing monthly post-contract cost reports for clients
• Inputting into value engineering activities
• Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
• Interfacing with clients and other consultants across project stages
• Leading a cost management team when appropriate
