About the role
This is a broad, hands-on Practice Accountant role covering statutory accounts, personal and corporation tax, client support and the review of work completed by junior team members.
You will manage your own responsibilities and client deadlines while working closely with the Managing Director on client delivery and workflow.
The role would suit an ACA or ACCA-qualified accountant, or someone qualified by experience, who has worked within a UK accountancy practice and enjoys the variety and autonomy that comes with working in a smaller firm.
What you’ll be doing
Prepare and review statutory accounts for a portfolio of small and owner-managed businesses
Manage client deadlines and ensure work is completed accurately and on time
Assist with personal and corporation tax compliance and basic advisory work
Review bookkeeping and management information prepared by junior team members
Act as a key point of contact for client queries and ongoing support
Support, guide and train junior members of the team
Work closely with the Managing Director on client delivery and workflow
Assist with ad hoc accounts, tax and client advisory assignments
Help maintain and improve internal processes and client service delivery
Build strong, long-term relationships with clients through high-quality service
Essential requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need:
ACA or ACCA qualification, or equivalent experience as a qualified-by-experience accountant
Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice
Strong statutory accounts preparation experience
Working knowledge of personal and corporation tax
Experience reviewing work and supporting junior team members
Confidence working independently within a small team
Strong communication and client relationship skills
An organised, proactive and reliable approach

£37,500–£50,000 per year
