Job Description:

An opportunity has arisen for an Asset Data Analyst to join a renewable energy developer delivering clean, sustainable energy while supporting local communities and reducing carbon emissions.

Working hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing, processing and analysing data from operational energy assets and associated systems.
  • Developing and maintaining automated processes for data collection, cleaning, storage and analysis.
  • Monitoring asset output, availability, downtime, faults, curtailment and production losses.
  • Reviewing contractor performance data against contractual KPIs and independently checking asset performance.
  • Producing regular and ad-hoc analysis to identify trends, anomalies and operational issues.
  • Using Python and other programming tools to develop analytical models and automate data workflows.
  • Creating clear, accurate reports, dashboards and management information.
  • Developing live operational dashboards using data feeds, APIs and automated pipelines where required.
  • Maintaining clear documentation covering data processes, pipelines, cleaning
  • Assisting with troubleshooting communications and data infrastructure, including networks, firewalls, VPNs and industrial routers.
  • Monitoring operational data feeds such as SCADA telemetry and site security systems.

What we are looking for:

Essential:

  • Previously worked as an Asset Data Analystor in a similar role.
  • Experience obtaining operational information from SCADA systems or industrial internet platforms.
  • Background in cleaning and processing time-series data using Excel, SQL and Python.
  • A degree or HND in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or a closely related technical discipline.
  • A strong engineering approach with the ability to interpret SCADA information and identify potential technical faults in physical equipment.
  • The ability to turn complex data analysis into clear, practical and actionable findings.
  • Familiarity with obtaining data through APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Valid UK driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience analysing plant availability against contractual requirements, including availability or power curve warranties.
  • Background in developing operational dashboards using Power BI.
  • Understanding of industrial communications and networking, including VPNs, routers, firewalls, Modbus or OPC UA.
  • Ability to develop complex SQL queries.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data storage such as AWS or Azure, or server architecture.
  • Experience establishing automated API connections, data pipelines or live operational reporting feeds.
