Domestic Abuse Outreach Support Worker at Key Unlocking Futures

KEY

At Key Unlocking Futures, part of Progress Housing Group, we help people across Lancashire build better lives. For over 30 years, we’ve supported children, young people and families through difficult times with compassionate, practical services that make a real difference.

We’re looking for a compassionate and resilient Domestic Abuse Outreach Support Worker to provide high-quality, trauma-informed support to individuals and families affected by domestic abuse. You’ll combine practical assistance, advocacy and emotional support to help survivors stay safe, rebuild confidence and move forward with greater independence.

Your Role as a Domestic Abuse Outreach Support Worker for Key:

As a Domestic Abuse Outreach Support Worker, you will manage a varied caseload and provide specialist one-to-one, group-based and community outreach support to people experiencing, or at risk of, domestic abuse. You will assess safeguarding concerns and wider needs, complete risk assessments, and develop personalised support and safety plans that reduce harm and help prevent crisis.

Working closely with housing, health, children’s services, adult safeguarding, criminal justice and voluntary-sector partners , you will help survivors access the right support at the right time. You will support people to navigate refuge, safe house, move-on and independent accommodation, sustain tenancies, connect with community services and achieve positive outcomes around recovery, health, finances, education, employment and life skills.

What You Will Bring:

  • An understanding of the pathways and barriers people may face when accessing refuge, safe house, move-on or independent accommodation, or returning safely to their own home.
  • The ability to manage a mixed caseload, assess safeguarding and risk, respond to crisis and recognise wider needs such as mental health, alcohol use and substance misuse.
  • Experience or the skills to deliver high-quality casework, including person-centred support planning and safety planning for people in crisis or needing safe housing.
  • A sensitive, inclusive and non-judgemental approach, with the ability to provide practical and emotional support so survivors feel valued, heard and supported.
  • The ability to build trusting relationships, help survivors develop confidence and independence, and support them to identify and achieve their own goals.
  • Strong partnership-working skills and the confidence to liaise with local authority housing teams, statutory services and voluntary organisations to secure appropriate support and safe housing options.
  • The ability to work sensitively with survivors through one-to-one sessions, group work and community drop-ins, alongside a passion for raising awareness of domestic abuse.
  • A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle for work purposes.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive Grade D salary of £26, 806 in recognition of your skill and dedication.
  • A benefits package focused on work-life balance.
  • Access to Employee Assistance Programme EAP
  • A role within an established organisation with almost 30 years of helping individuals and families building a brighter future for themselves.
  • A rewarding role with real purpose
  • Supportive team environment
  • Training and development opportunities
  • The chance to be part of a trusted organisation changing lives across Lancashire
  • Job security with a Permanent position that promotes work life balance

This is your chance to join an organisation with a strong social purpose, where your work will have a direct impact on the safety, resilience and long-term wellbeing of people affected by domestic abuse.

We’re proud that this impact has been recognised beyond our organisation. Key Unlocking Futures has been named the 2026 Spring North Charity of the Year and Impact Award winner, and we’re also delighted to have been shortlisted as BIBA finalists.
