We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Health Care Support Worker to join our Childrens Outpatient Team.

This post will bepredominantly based at University Hospital of North Durham but travel to othersites is required. Our team supports around 32,000 appointments per year sothis is a busy role where no two days are the same. This role is for 26.25 hours;8.15am-5.30pm shifts Monday-Friday to meet the needs of the service.

You will be welcomingchildren and families to the department, supporting Consultant and Nurse ledclinics, performing clinical observations and supporting our nursing team withinvestigations and procedures. You will be expected to take bloods after appropriatetraining. As well as being a great team player, were looking for someone whois flexible, has initiative and excellent communication skills and will takepride in ensuring the department is maintained to a high standard.

This is a Trustwiderole so whilst you’ll be predominantly based at UHND , you will be required totravel to Darlington Memorial, Bishop Auckland, Chester-le-Street Hospitals andStanley Primary Care centre; you must be able to travel independently acrosssite.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites – Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients’ homes.
