About the role:
justteachers is seeking a passionate and resilient SEN Teacher to work within a specialist SEN school in Birmingham from September 2026. This rewarding Key Stage 4 role offers the opportunity to support students with diverse additional needs, preparing them for further education, employment, and independent living through engaging and personalised learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of Key Stage 4 pupils.
- Prepare students for accredited qualifications and support their personal development.
- Develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to annual reviews.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages confidence and independence.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, pastoral teams, and parents to provide consistent support.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Previous experience teaching in an SEN or specialist education setting is desirable.
- Knowledge of Autism, SEMH, ADHD, and complex learning needs.
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with young people.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Right to work in the UK.
