Paralegal – Commercial Property

We are seeking a dedicated Paralegal to join our Commercial Property Department. This role involves a blend of fee-earning and administrative responsibilities, ensuring the efficient delivery of legal services. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess excellent organisational and communication skills, capable of effectively coordinating between clients and internal teams.
Day-to-day of the role:
Legal Expertise and Transactional Responsibilities:
- Support fee earners in providing legal advice on commercial property matters, including lease negotiations, property acquisitions, and disposals.
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents under supervision, ensuring alignment with clients’ commercial objectives.
- Assist in conducting due diligence, identifying potential risks, and advising on mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate transactions from inception to completion, ensuring timely progress.
Fee-Earning and Casework:
- Assist with fee-earning activities under supervision, managing own caseload where possible.
- Draft legal documents and correspondence.
- Review and organise documents provided by clients or third parties.
- Prepare case-related financial records and assist with the distribution of funds.
Administrative and Support Services:
- Provide administrative support including typing, diary management, and general office duties.
- Manage filing systems, correspondence, and document handling.
Client Communication and Representation:
- Maintain professional client interactions, ensuring confidentiality and discretion.
- Respond promptly to client queries and support the processing of client instructions in line with firm procedures.
Teamwork and Professional Development:
- Actively contribute to the team, organise and prioritise workloads, and engage in ongoing training to enhance legal knowledge and skills.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2+ years’ legal secretarial experience; full training will be provided.
- Fast and accurate audio and copy typing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
- Experience with legal case management software (e.g., Partners for Windows) is advantageous.
- Strong English grammar, spelling, legal terminology familiarity, and numerical skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage confidential information discreetly.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities as required.
