About the Role
We are seeking a Custody Administration Assistantto provide high-quality administrative and logistical support to our Custody Management Unit. This is a varied and rewarding role where you will play a key part in ensuring the effective administration of police custody processes, supporting officers, staff, and external partners to deliver an efficient service.
Working within a professional and fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, coordinating meetings, managing information systems, and acting as a key point of contact for enquiries across the Custody Management Team.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing administrative support to the Custody Management Team, including preparing correspondence, communications, and routine documentation.
- Maintaining and updating police and force systems, ensuring information is accurate, up to date, and compliant with relevant policies.
- Coordinating meetings, preparing agendas and papers, and taking accurate minutes.
- Managing action logs, databases, records, and SharePoint repositories to support effective team operations.
- Collating data and information to assist with performance reporting, audits, and scrutiny processes.
- Supporting the retrieval and management of custody CCTV and assisting with records management activity.
- Liaising with police officers, partner agencies, solicitors, HMCTS, the CPS, and other stakeholders to respond to enquiries and provide administrative support.
- Assisting with continuous improvement projects and departmental initiatives.

- Confidence working with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
