The Electrical Production Manager is responsible for leading and supporting the day to day activities of the electrical fitting team. This role ensures that production targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. This role acts as the first point of contact for the Electrical Team, providing guidance, resolving technical and operational issues, and escalating concerns where necessary to maintain workflow and production continuity. In addition to technical delivery, the Electrical Production Manager provides day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to Electrical Fitters, driving performance in line with Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People (SQCDP) objectives and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Your key responsibilities in this role include:

Lead and co-ordinate electrical installation activities across assigned production areas or projectsEnsure all electrical work complies with BS 7671 and internal quality standardsSupport integration of electrical systems into mechanical assemblies and complex productsProvide hands-on support for complex or critical wiring tasks when neededMonitor daily build plans and ensure work is delivered in line with production schedulesAct as the first point of escalation for electrical build issues, supporting fault finding and resolutionProvide day-to-day direction, mentoring, and technical support to Electrical FittersAllocate tasks and balance workloads to meet production prioritiesSupport onboarding and training of new team membersPromote high standards of workmanship, behaviour, and accountability within the teamChampion a strong safety culture, ensuring all work is carried out in line with safe systems of workEnsure team compliance with HSE procedures, risk assessments, and PPE requirementsProactively identify and address hazards, unsafe behaviours, and near missesSupport incident investigations and implementation of corrective actionsMaintain high standards of housekeeping in line with 5S principlesSupport inspections, audits, and testing activitiesManage and escalate non-conformances, ensuring timely resolutionDrive adherence to company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirementsLead and support continuous improvement initiatives within the electrical teamIdentify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and build qualityParticipate in Lean activities including 5S, standard work, and waste reductionSupport implementation of improved working methods and best practicesContribute to achieving SQCDP performance targetsMake day-to-day decisions on build sequencing and issue resolution within defined parametersEscalate complex technical, resource, or quality issues to Production LeadershipRecommend process improvements and support implementationInfluence team performance, standards, and behaviours on the shopfloor

Apply if you have most of the following:

Proven experience in an electrical fitting or installation role within a manufacturing or production environmentDemonstrated experience supporting or leading small teams or acting as a senior/lead technicianStrong background in interpreting electrical drawings and schematicsExperience in fault finding, diagnostics, and resolving build issuesExperience working within a quality-controlled or regulated manufacturing environment

Technical skills/Education:

Level 3 Installation Electrician /Maintenance Electrician apprenticeship – City & Guilds 5357 or equivalentLevel 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018 – City & Guilds 2382 or equivalentLevel 3 Award in the initial verification and certification of electrical installations – City & Guilds 2394 or equivalentStrong understanding of BS 7671 standards and electrical best practiceAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawingsGood understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflowsEffective communication and team coordination skills18th Edition

Full time onsite required at Merthyr TydfilSuccessful candidate to complete a BPSS check.
