Join Strata Solicitors, Gallagher Bassett’s in-house law firm, as a Property Recovery Claims Handler, where you’ll manage your own caseload within our growing Property Recovery Team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a developing and expanding team, with excellent opportunities to build your expertise and progress your career.Working alongside experienced legal and insurance professionals, you’ll handle a varied portfolio of recovery claims arising from property damage incidents, including fire, escape of water, subsidence, impact, storm, flood and other insured perils. You’ll be responsible for progressing claims from initial instruction through to recovery, settlement, or litigation where required.How you’ll make an impact

  • Managing a caseload of property recovery claims arising from property damage losses, including fire, escape of water, subsidence, impact, flood, storm and other insured events.
  • Opening claims on the case management system and carrying out initial investigations and liability assessments.
  • Reviewing evidence and pursuing recovery opportunities against responsible third parties and their insurers.
  • Sending Letters of Claim and negotiating settlements through telephone discussions and written correspondence.
  • Issuing court proceedings when required and managing litigated claims through to conclusion.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal procedures, client service level agreements and key performance indicators.
  • Maintaining accurate and complete records on the case management system.
  • Supporting colleagues to achieve client and operational objectives.
  • Delegating and supervising appropriate tasks to Claims Administration Assistants.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial procedures and Solicitors Accounts Rules.
  • Maximising recovery outcomes while delivering excellent client service.

About You

Here’s what you’ll bring to the role:

Essential:

  • Experience in property recovery handling within a legal claims management environment.
  • Experience dealing with property losses arising from fire, flood, escape of water, subsidence, impact, storm or other insured perils.
  • Demonstrable self-motivation and initiative.
  • The ability to work independently within a defined structure and collaborate effectively with peers and managers.
  • Clear and professional communication skills.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.

Desirable:

  • A Law degree or Insurance Qualification (or equivalent).
