Overview
As a Quantity Surveyor in Bouygues UKs Building Safety team, you will drive cost control and contractual effectiveness on recladding projects across the Southwest & Wales region. You’ll partner with the project lead to develop budgets, prepare quantities from drawings, and manage procurement, payments, and financial reporting. Your role supports recovery strategies and ensures robust contractual arrangements with consultants and subcontractors. You will attend site meetings and contribute to monthly project reporting.

Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and update detailed cost budgets
- Produce quantities from drawings and contribute to Contractors Proposals
- Procure consultants/subcontractors in line with BYUK procedures and maintain robust contracts
- Financial and contractual management of consultants/subcontractors
- Submit payment applications within agreed timeframes and provide timely recommendations
- Generate monthly financial reports and maintain on-site records for recovery actions
- administer supply chain payments per appointments
- Support project lead in site meetings and internal/external monthly reports
- Review third-party claims and prepare assessments (Scott Schedules)
- Manage junior surveyors and oversee their development
- Assist with post-contract financial forecasting and reporting
- Control design management finances and overall project costs
- Manage client accounts and contribute to recovery strategies with the Commercial Director
Key requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor or large subcontractor
- Ability to prepare timely monthly financial reports and forecast costs accurately
- Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Strong understanding of company reporting timetables and procedures
- Experience in subcontract and consultant procurement and contract administration
- Experience with site-based cost control and financial reporting
- Experience in managing junior staff
